About ME

Tara Gibson

I started working on my family tree more than 15 years ago when I was tasked with organizing my own family reunion. I then took a DNA test which changed my world.  Bricks wall which I thought would never be broken came tumbling down.  I discovered family secrets, name changes and close relatives that I didn't know existed. My passion and expertise over the years developed and I started helping others with their trees and their mysteries.  I believe EVERYONE should know who they are and where they come from; it is because of this belief that I do what I do to help others.

John McAllister

John spent the 80s attending a variety of Canadian universities.  Starting off at the University of Waterloo, he obtained a BSc and MSc in geology from Brock University, started a PhD at McMaster University, and obtained a BEd and teaching degree from Nipissing Teachers’ College.  His interest in genealogy began when he was 11 and worked with his maternal grandfather on his mother’s family tree.  In his 50s, he had his family members take the new DNA tests, and using those results drastically rewrote his paternal line.  He has helped numerous friends and DNA cousins with their trees and in interpreting their DNA results, as well as finding the bioparents for a number of adoptees.  Retired after teaching elementary school for almost 30 years, he now spends his time working on his car collection, birding photos, and, of course, his family tree.
