Almost everyone who takes a DNA test finds something surprising, and for most it’s something exciting and enriching; but there are certainly cases where a discovery might be quite unexpected.  DNA test can reveal family secrets, unearthed affairs, secret pregnancies, quietly buried incidents of rape and incest, and fertility doctors using their own sperm to inseminate patients. These secrets otherwise would have—or even did—go the grave but testing has uncovered the hidden secrets.  You must make the informed decision about whether or not to test and to be prepared for the possible outcomes.  It is important to understand before testing that DNA doesn't lie.  Genetic relationships are often not well defined in test results, and are subject to misinterpretation. The Gene Sleuths will interpret your test results and help you conclusively understand the relationship of your genetic matches.  The Gene Sleuths can NOT be held responsible for the outcome of your DNA test.
